We will research the acceleration of Heiko Hirschmuller's Semi-global Matching algorithm through GPU processing, with an application toward real-time analysis of input from stereo cameras.
Realtime, high-resolution and coherent disparity information would be a potential source for realtime tracking of complex objects such as hand gestures.
