Olga Sorkine

I'm an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University. I'm a member of NYU's Vision, Learning and Graphics group and Media Research Lab.

My research interests lie in the field of Computer Graphics; in particular, I concentrate on interactive geometric modeling, shape approximation, shape and image manipulation, computer animation and expressive modeling techniques.

Current

I am co-chairing the eighth Eurographics/ACM SIGGRAPH Symposium on Geometry Processing, to be held in July 2010 in Lyon. Stay tuned for more info and plan to submit your cool work on geometry!

I have great fun working with my PhD students: Qingnan (James) Zhou and Alec Jacobson, postdoc: Tino Weinkauf and visiting researchers: Yu-Shuen Wang (10-11/09), Nico Pietroni (11/09-2/10), Kenshi Takayama (3-5/09).

	09.15.2009 Two papers accepted to SIGGRAPH Asia 2009: "Motion-Aware Temporal Coherence for Video Resizing" and "Evaluation of Reverse Tone Mapping through Varying Exposure Conditions" (check out the publications page). I will also give a course on Visual Media Retargeting together with Arik Shamir.
	04.06.2009 Our iWires paper got accepted to ACM SIGGRAPH 2009! The final PDF will be online in May.
	03.30-04.03.2009 Eurographics 2009 in Munich. The slides in the CS building were awesome!

	09.18-25.2008 After the SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 Sketches & Posters committee meeting in Barcelona, I visited Diego Gutierrez's research group at the University of Zaragoza.
